Jain Pilgrimage Pawa Nagar ( Fazilnagar)

Pawanagar  also Known as Fazilnagar is famous for being the place where Lord Mahaveer attained ' Nirvana'. It is also known as Sathiardiha and described as ' Sathik Deha '.
It is also believed to be the place where Lord Buddha, while going to Kushinagar from Vaishali, stayed and accepted a meal from his disciple "Chund Kammara".
He ate "Sukaramaddava" (mushrooms) after which he proceeded to

Kushinara (modern Kushinagar), where he attained Mahaparinirvana.

A magnificent Manasthamba has been constructed within the   Mahaveer  temple premises.

The temple houses 4 beautiful carved idols.
Devotees from all over the world visit this place, specially on  Kartik Purnima to celebrate the ' Nirvana Mahotsav', which is invariably preceded by much religious fanfare and a big procession.
